Because of the tremendous force needed to remove chain pins, our Screw Type Chain Tool is made from investment cast steel. Handy ?loosening shelf? to remedy stiff links after reassembly. Fine thread and comfortable size for easy removal of even the toughest chain pins. Intended for derailleur type chains, either 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 speeds. For 11 speed use the CT-4.2. When using the CT-3 to press the chain rivet in or out of the chain plates, place the chain roller over the support shelf as seen in the image below.
